Airbus A340
The first flight of an Airbus A340 was in October 1991. It was produced from 1991 to 2010.There are four variants of the A340. It is a long-range, and beat the world record of distance in 1993, flying from Le Bourget (France) to Auckland ( New-Zealand), flying 19000km.
The Airbus A340-200 is the smallest of the 4 variants. It performed his maiden fligt in April 1992. He is 59,4m long, 16,7 high and has a wingspan of 60m. It can hold up to 261 passengers. It is a very rare plane, because all the airlines operatig him changed.

The Airbus A340-300 is the first plane of A330/A340 family. It performed its first flight in October 1991, and his first customer was Air France, in 1993. It is 63,3m long, like the Airbus A330-330, 16,8m high and has a wingspan of 60,3m. It can hold up to 265 passengers.

The Airbus A340-500 was, until Boeing made the 777-200LR Worldliner, the plane with the better operating range. It is the plane which operated the longest route on Earth, by flying from New-York to Singapore without stop in Singapore Airlines' colors. He performed his maiden flight in February 2002. It is 68m long, and has a wingspan of 63m. It can hold up to 313 passengers.

The Airbus A340-600 is the longest Airbus, and was the longest plane until Boeing made the Boeing 747-8. It flew for the first time in April 2001. It is 75m long, 17m high and has a wingspan of 63m. It can hold up to 380 passengers.
